Sleepless Slumber Party

Hannah loves to go get pillows off the couch and find her favorite throw rug and have Mom and Dad join her on the floor for a slumber party, and we all pretend to go to sleep. The funniest part about this cute routine is that Hannah never closes her eyes or stops flailing around - she is a ball of tossing and turning energy... We tried to get her to pretend to sleep - just for a second.... Needless to say, Hannah's first acting class took several takes. She did close her eyes in the end, but she isn't fooling anyone yet...

The Circle of Life

Step One: bring over sweet, charming home-made cupcakes...
Step Two: ask "Can I go inside? I just want to play with your toys?"

Step Three: "C'mon, please, I am really chilly..."

Step Four: "Hey, can I check out your bed room?"

Step Five: Get tossed out by Hannah's crazy mean old Dad.

Don't think I won't do it just because you are only three...

I am one more cuddly cupcake face away from joining the NRA.

More Drawing Faces

Hannah's dad has always been excellent at drawing, from a very early age. So it's no surprise that Hannah derives great pleasure in watching him at his craft as he whisks up Elmos and Cookie Monsters, and lots of other interesting creatures too. Maybe this is where she draws her own inspiration from - watching daddy draw away. She is still always begging for crayons or pens so she can do more artwork, something we wholly encourage. Lately she has been more focused on drawing faces, and getting really good at it too. Especially the head and eyes, as she loves drawing circles. But then also coloring in things. She gets really focused, which is super fun to watch. Especially when she looks up and says "Look Mommy! See?!" She is always saying things like that too, which is so cute.

My turn!
Hannah can't get enough of this magic travel drawing pad from Auntie Marci - the "pen" is filled with water, so it eventually evaporates, but lasts long enough to make a picture of some sort. Thanks Marci!!

Hannah meets baby Sloane

Back in January, Hannah got to meet her good friend Reece's baby sister, Sloane, when she was just 2 weeks old.

Notice Sloane has the same whirlpool curl her older sister had.

After oogling the newborn for about 3 minutes, Hannah got back to her favorite activity - watching videos on my iPhone. Here she shows Reece all her fave vids.

Oh Yeah? Well, It's MY Night, So SCRAM!

One night a year, every year,
Hollywood celebrates film genius...

By promoting SMELLY TRASH,
DIRTY GARBAGE and SLIMY FILTH,
and as recently as last year,
they did it all while "going GREEN"

Yeah,
wellllllll....

CAN IT!

Until they look under a certain grouch's roof-lid
off the right corner of the stairway of
123 Sesame Street
they will never
come close to honoring the true
OSCAR NIGHT!

BEAT IT, KIDS!

First PB&J Sando!

Hannah has been rejecting peanutbutter ever since we were first "allowed" to give it to her - which was probably attempted sometime before but close to her 2nd birthday. But by some miracle recently (or more likely, because we read a certain Sesame Street book where Chef Grover can only make PB&J sandwiches), she agreed to try one. This is doubly impressive because she will try almost nothing that is new or different anymore, and has become a very picky eater, just like her mom used to be. The difference being that all her mom used to eat was in fact PB&J sandwiches! Anyway, we haven't had many more of these, but we were excited to see her enjoy one at long last...

Like everything she DOES eat, however, she always tries to shove as much of it in her mouth as possible. And this mini sando was no exception.

So what does her daily diet exist of these days? Well, it is far from balanced unfortunately. Breakfast usually includes a cup of milk, some bites of momma's Frosted Mini Wheats, then either a toasted cinnamon raisin muffin with cream cheese or some pumpkin bread from Martha Bros. Lunch really depends on when she wakes up from her nap, but it's consisted of less and less lately. So then we just swing into dinner, which is most often Mac 'n Cheese, either 3-4 chicken nuggets with ketchup or fresh rotisserie chicken from the grocery, some mini slices of cheese pizza (but it must be fresh, and cold is OK too, just as long as it was never frozen!), perhaps an apple juice box, maybe a string cheese, a YoBaby yogurt, on some days peas, on most days, some fruit - a couple huge strawberries, a few bites of banana, maybe a load of grapes, or a handful of orange slices. Wheat Thins are a standby favorite snack, and the occasional graham cracker (but usually only if it's someone else's). So that's about it. For all that lack of diversity and lately, quantity, she doesn't appear to be withering away, and generally has an overabundance of energy, so we're not too worried...yet.

Hell's Angel Rides the Mini Kick

Taking the new Mini Kick out for its inaugural spin...

Leftey, rightey, swift and mighty... this is GREAT!

Thanks Dad...
WOAH!
Now THAT's a SCOOTER!

I know what you're thinking.
And you're right...

It's stolen.
AND
She Doesn't have a license
or a helmet
or a good father.

So much for the mini kick...
Guess I'll spend my next few bucks on another parenting book.
